New Toys Make Freddie Happy

Freddie says, "Thanks for the toys, Ashlee!"

Freddie doesn't seem to understand that 2 cat toys + 2 cats = 1 toy for each cat.  He's claimed both of them as his own.  I can't really get mad at him for it because he's just so cute when he's playing.  I'll have to try and get some video of him playing.  I'll tell you, it's far more entertaining than watching television.

Here's Baranaby getting growled at for going near Freddie's new toy.  Poor Barnaby!  He just wanted to sniff it!

Apparently, Trash Is Tastier Than Cat Food

Remember this cute picture of Freddie "helping" me with my project?  Well, no more helping for Freddie!  He just had surgery to remove what the vet described as a "hard, black rubbery something" from his small intestine!

EDIT:
Hey Ashlee,

Freddie almost has the tail torn off of his green fuzzy mouse.  Can I talk you into making another one when you have some spare time?

We Have Fleas!

I have no idea where they came from but I have approximately 1.4 million bites on my legs. The poor boys are scratching like crazy. I feel like such a bad kitty mom! I'm stealing Lou's Revolution since she never used it. It expired last year but it should still be ok, right?

#43. Recall your favorite childhood game.

I don't have a specific game like hide and seek that was my favorite.  My favorite "game" as playing pretend with my brother and my friends.  I have very fond memories of Nick and me playing in our weird van shaped pop-up tent.  It was a blue and red van shaped tent that attached itself to my twin sized bed.  I remember we would pretend that the van was our home, kind of like the Boxcar Children books.  We used to put on a lot of plays (which explains why he's an actor now).  Unfortunately, I don't remember what any of our plays were about.  I do know that every time we put one on, I had to wear my bellydancing outfit that Aunt Cassie made for me.  Mom also told me about the time we had a wedding for my Poppels and Nick asked her, "smoking or non-smoking," instead of, "bride or groom."
And of course, I remember when Ashlee, Nathan and I used to play in their basement with Barbie dolls and the various other toys they had.  I made a Drew Barrymore Barbie by cutting off all of her hair and having her flash everybody (this was around the time she flashed David Letterman on national television).  We also had a Howdy Doody looking doll that we named Green Pickle Chimichanga-changa.  And the MC Hammer doll became MC Hammer Hammer, with an emphasis on the last Hammer.  We were and still are strange people!

#1. Go for a walk. Draw or list things you find on the the sidewalk.

I'm dog-sitting for one of mom's friends, so I figured while walking Peanut I could look for things on the sidewalk and in the neighborhood.  Here's what we found:

4 newspapers wrapped in plastic (which I picked up and put closer to their owners doors)
tons of Live Oak pollen (it looks like a cross between moss and a caterpillar)
a crushed Diet Coke can
petrified dog poop (I am nice enough to pick up Peanut's crap!)
dog paw prints embedded in the sidewalk
a mailbox shaped like a train engine
a mailbox with a roadrunner painted on it
4 unfriendly, barking dogs behind chain link fences
1 friendly dog running free in her/his yard
a yard that smells like baby powder
several houses with fake flowers "planted" next to mailboxes

#37. List all of the places you've ever lived

This is going to be a short list:

Seabrook, TX (birth to 2 years old)
Joplin, MO (2 to 17)
San Antonio, TX (17 to current)

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing that I've lived in so few places.  I would eventually like to move out of San Antonio.  I think I'd like to live in Austin for a while and then maybe venture out to Oregon.  It's so beautiful there but I'm not sure I could handle living in cold weather again.

#53. Using a grid, collect various textures from magazine and play them off of each other.

This is for my Keri Smith 100 ideas swap. I figured that since I have a plethora of magazines, this would be a good starting point. I used fashion and home decorating magazines. I especially like how the top line turned out. I tried to use neutral colors and natural textures for that line. The rest of the lines, I just threw things together, but it still looks good in my opinion.
Of course, Freddie was more than happy to assist me with my creative project.

Hello again

Well, partly inspired by Ashlee and partly inspired by my 100 ideas swap, I've decided to start this blog yet again.  This will be a place for ongoing projects in my life (swap-bot projects, home improvement/decor projects, my own personal projects, etc).
